Suspended for Breakdancing?
Well, obviously it was a lot more complex than just that, but our eldest was suspended by his high school for breakdancing. We made him sit down and write it all up, and he (not being one to waste effort) posted the whole narrative to his blog. It inspired him to go on and create a CafePress store for merchandise for his break dance crew, NTS. Let a kid hit 18 and now he thinks he's an entrepreneur. Anyway, along with the parents of another student who was involved, we spoke with the vice principals at the high school (since the principal was out with the flu) who were very receptive, attentive and truly concerned about seeing that the right thing was done. They ultimately agreed with us that the punishment was too harsh for the incident and the suspension was rescinded. So our sons got to go to the dress rehersal for “West Side Story” which opens tonight at the high school--my son has the lead. Break a leg, Andrew!
